Braga, é uma das cidades mais antigas de Portugal e é considerada uma das primeiras cidades cristãs do mundo. Visitar esta cidade é como regressar ao passado e mergulhar na história daquela que foi a primeira região daquilo que viria a ser Portugal.

Braga is one of the oldest towns of Portugal and is considered one of the first christians of the world. Visiting this city is like going back to the past and dive in the history of what would become Portugal.

Theatro Circo

Começou a ser construído em 1911 e terminou em 1914, ficando com o nome de teatro circo com capacidade de 1500 pessoas e afirmando-se como um dos maiores e mais belos teatros portugueses.

It started being build in 1911 and was finished in 1914, getting the name of Teatro Circo with capability for 1500 people and afirming it self like one of the biggest and more beautiful portuguese theaters.

Sé de Braga

A catedral apresenta duas torres na fachada, o que a aproxima das grandes catedrais do romântico português, mas foi, com o correr dos séculos, modificada. O nome da sé é usado em uma expressão “Mais velho que a Sé Braga”, que é usada quando se pretende definir a antiguidade de algo.

The Cathedral presents two towers in its facade, which approches it of one of the biggest cathedrals of portuguese “romântico” style, but, with the centurys, it was modified. The name of the Sé is used in na expression “Older than the Braga Sé“, which is used when you want to define the age of something.

Arcada da Lapa

A Arcada da Lapa ou simplesmente A Arcada, situa-se no coração da cidade. Foi construída em 1715 para compor um pequeno edifício coberto onde os mercadores, que se dirigiam à cidade, negociavam os seus produtos.

The Lapa Arcade or simply “The Arcade” is located in the heart of the city. It was built in 1715 to compose a small covered building where the merchants, when coming to the city, negociated its products.

Palácio do Raio

Construído em 1754-55, por encomenda de João Duarte de Faria, um poderoso comerciante de Braga, é um dos mais notáveis edifícios de arquitectura civil da cidade de Braga, em estilo barroco joanino.

Built in 1754-55 by the order of João Duarte de Faria, a powerful merchant of Braga, is one of the most remarcable building of civil arquitecture of Braga, in “barroco joanino” style.
